The town of Silverton, in New South Wales, Australia, was founded in 1890. It is located about 25 kilometers northwest of Broken Hill and has a population of 48 (2021).
Silver was once mined here, and the town flourished and grew. However, when a much larger silver deposit was discovered in nearby Broken Hill, the town began its decline.
