Samoa, a country in Polynesia
Samoa is a country in Polynesia, in the South Pacific, comprising the westernmost group of the Samoa Islands.
Once again I hear the call of freedom and once again the desire to travel awakens in me. Magdalena also hears it and we begin to gather ideas for our next trip. We write everything down in yapuso and finally it is the South Seas which is calling us.
Samoa offers the South Seas lifestyle up close. So we choose the country in Polynesia, which comprises the westernmost group of the Samoa Islands.
The culture on Samoa is particularly unique. There are few places in the world that are so popular with tourists and yet have retained so much of their own culture. Samoa is considered the center and origin of the culture of the South Pacific and lives by it. Samoan culture consists of giving, taking and sharing. Many live in extended families, over which the head, the Matai, rules.
Bus rides in Samoa are simply “awesome”, I thinks to myself every time we take the bus. Each bus is unique, especially in terms of color, but also the interior too. You won't find any glass panes, the windows are open. A sound system is installed in all the vehicles, with loud, mostly chilled rhythms coming out of the speakers.
We have used many public buses around the world, already. The Diablo Rojos in Panama City are certainly worth mentioning. But as cool as here in Samoa.... Sitting in a bus like this and riding along the sea with the sound in our ears, it's simply priceless.
