Salta, the colonial city
Salta is located in the north-western part of Argentina in the middle of the Valle de Lerma and is home to over half a million inhabitants. The old colonial architecture of the Spanish founders is very much in evidence. The city was founded in 1582.

Bolivia is a country in central South America and offers a diverse landscape ranging from the Andes to the Atacama Desert, the rainforest in the Amazon basin and of course the Salar de Uyuni, wich is the world's largest salt flat, at 10,582 square kilometres in area.
San Pedro de Atacama
San Pedro de Atacama is a town in the north of Chile. It is located in the Atacama Desert, one of the driest and loneliest landscapes on earth, and comprises several oasis villages. Spread over an area of 23,438 km², scattered in numerous small settlements, there are only 10,996 inhabitants.
Peru and its incredible diversity
With an area of 1,285,216 km², Peru is the third largest country in South America after Brazil and Argentina. Peru borders Ecuador and Colombia to the north, Brazil and Bolivia to the east, Chile to the south and the Pacific Ocean to the west.
Panama and the world's most important waterway
Panama is a natural land bridge and connects North and Central America with South America. As a result, some animal species from both parts can be found here. The country gained its independence from Colombia in 1903. After that, the country was under the influence of the USA for a long time.
