Singapore: An Island City-State
I’ll admit it: Singapore was never at the top of my bucket list. Too clean. Too organized. Too… perfect? I’m more the type who likes to navigate chaotic markets in Bangkok or sleep under the stars in the middle of nowhere in Australia, if you know what I mean.

Couple years ago, I finally flew there, and then again a while after that. And man, was I wrong. Singapore isn’t just “clean.” It’s well-designed. It’s a city that shows you what travel can be like when you’re not constantly planning, searching, getting lost, or forgetting things.
Imagine this: You arrive at the airport—and within 20 minutes, you’re right in the heart of the city. No rush. No stress. Everything runs smoothly.
Looking for nature? Gardens by the Bay. Right in the heart of the city. Futuristic and green all at once.
Just want to relax and unwind? Checkout Marina Bay. At sunset. With a drink in hand.
Then, in the evening, that's when the magic happens. And nowhere have I felt it as much as at Clark Quay Central, right on the Singapore River.
I just wandered around there. No real plan. No specific destination. Just seeing what happened and taking pictures.
And then you see it: the colorful lights reflecting off the water. The old, restored warehouses that are now bars and restaurants. People from all over the world, just being there. Living. Laughing. Enjoying themselves.
I sat down at one of the many bars—right on the water—and just watched.
Boats glide by. The skyline glows in the background. Music fills the air. And I think to myself:
That’s exactly why we travel.
Not for the perfect Instagram Story. Not for a checked-off bucket list.
But for those moments you don’t plan. The ones that just happen. The ones you can only experience if you’re there.
And that’s exactly why it really bugs me when I come home after a night like that and think, “Damn, what was the name of that bar again? And where are the photos from that moment?”
Clark Quay has shown me once again: the best memories happen spontaneously.
But keep track of them? That takes organization. That’s exactly why we’re building yapuso - a platform that takes the chaos out of your life without taking away your freedom.
Because let's be honest: How often have you come back from a trip and thought, “Where were those photos from that one night again?” Or, “What was the name of that restaurant my friend recommended?”
Singapore has shown me that structure and adventure aren't mutually exclusive. On the contrary: the more organized you are, the more freedom you have.
And that’s exactly the feeling we want to give you with yapuso.
